40강. 가산/불가산 명사

1.     가산 명사

A.    셀 수 있는 사물/사람은 하나/여러개의 구분이 필요.

B.     하나 일 때 : a/an 붙이기.

C.     여러개 일때 : s/es 붙이기.

-s, -sh, -ch, -x, -o : -es 붙이기

Buses, dishes, churches, boxes, potatoes

 

y : ies 붙이기

babies

 

-ay, -ey, -oy : -s 붙이기.

Days, monkeys, boys

 

-f, -ef : -ves 붙이기

Leaves, wives

D.    특수한 복수의 물건들

A man à men , A woman à women

A child à children

A foot à feet, A tooth à teeth

A mouse à mice.

A fish à fish , A sheep à sheep

 

복수 밖에 없는 People, police – The police/ People are here

(사람들, 경찰은 모두 복수로, 단수가 존재하지 않음)

2.     셀 수 있는 것일 경우 반드시 아래 사항을 따라야 함.

C.     소유하는 사람 붙이기 : my, your ~

A.    액체, 기체 , 가루, 덩어리, 가치, 종(과)목.

B.     셀수 없는 것엔 a/an, s/-es 붙이지 못함.

C.     The, 소유하는 사람은 붙일 수 있음.

D.    Much, a lot of, some 붙일 수 있음.

E.     셀 수 없는 데 a 를 붙이려면 단위를 정해주면 a 를 붙일 수 있음.
